BLACKOUTS INFORMATION

Before your blackout appointment

1. Prepare your skin for the session:

A week before your appointment, moisturize the area with a fragrance-free, non greasy lotion. Keeping your skin hydrated will improve your ability to absorb the ink and create a more even healing.

2. Avoid or reduce the usage of blood thinners:

Alcohol, aspirin, Ibuprofen and other blood thinners could affect the healing of your tattoo and increase bleeding during your session. Safely reduce their usage prior to your appointment.

3. Exfoliate your skin:

Two days before your appointment, lightly exfoliate the area to remove any dead skin and ensure the blackout will sit in fresh layers of skin.

4. Prepare clothes for your appointment:

Plan on wearing dark clothing for your appointment as the ink will stain any clothing during and after the process of the tattoo. Avoid wearing tight clothing for your session and for at least a week after getting the tattoo.

  3. Dry your tattoo with a clean paper towel. Do NOT use your regular towel.

  4. Leave your tattoo uncovered for a few hours until you are ready to go sleep.

  5. Before sleeping, wrap your tattoo with the second absorbent pad provided.

2nd and 3rd Day:

6. Repeat all the steps from the first day

4th Day +:

7. You will continue washing your tattoo at least once a day, ideally morning and night.

8. Moisturize your tattoo after every wash.

9. Let your tattoo get air, do NOT wear tight clothes until it is fully healed.

    • This is totally normal with heavy black packing. Do NOT pull on this skin, let it fall naturally or otherwise it will affect the healing of the tattoo,.

  2. The area that got blacked out is swollen and bruised?

    • Blackouts are a really intense procedure, swelling and bruising is totally normal and will go down as your tattoo is healing. You may feel your skin tight and hard to move for a few days.
